Best time to visit Anjuna Goa travel guide

June 29, 2026 | 6 min read | Endless Blue Hostel & Villa

Anjuna changes with the season. The beach, markets, nightlife, villa rates and hostel crowd all feel different depending on when you arrive. The good news: there is no single wrong time to visit. The best month depends on whether you want peak Goa energy, quieter prices, monsoon greenery or a long workation base.

November to February: Peak Goa Season

This is the classic North Goa season. Days are bright, evenings are cooler, beach shacks are active, and Anjuna's music, cafe and market scene is at full strength. If you want the full first-time Goa experience, this is the easiest period to recommend.

  • Best for beach days, nightlife, Christmas, New Year and group trips.
  • Book private rooms, studio rooms and the villa early, especially for December and long weekends.
  • Expect the highest rates of the year across hostels, hotels and villas.

October and March: The Sweet Spot

October and March are ideal if you want a strong Goa atmosphere without peak-season pressure. October opens the season as shacks and events restart. March winds things down slowly but still offers warm beach weather and open cafes.

For many guests, these two months are the best balance of weather, availability and price. They work especially well for couples, solo travellers and small groups who want flexibility without booking months ahead.

Endless Blue tip

If your dates are flexible, ask us for rates across two or three nearby date ranges. A small shift away from a weekend or festival can make a real difference for hostel private rooms, studio rooms and villa stays.

April to May: Warm, Quiet and Budget-Friendly

April and May are hotter and slower, but they can still work for travellers who prefer calmer cafes, lower rates and a relaxed schedule. Plan beach time for mornings and evenings, keep afternoons for cafe work or rest, and choose air-conditioned rooms if heat bothers you.

June to September: Monsoon in Anjuna

Monsoon is a different Goa. The sea is rough, many beach shacks close, and nightlife becomes quieter. In return, North Goa turns green, rates drop, and the pace softens. This period is best for long stays, writing, workations, slow travel and guests who do not need the full beach-party calendar.

  • Best for lower rates, greenery, workations and calm travel.
  • Not ideal if your main plan is swimming, beach shacks or outdoor parties.
  • Carry rain-friendly footwear and plan transport before late-night outings.

Which Season Should You Choose?

If you are visiting Goa for the first time and want maximum energy, choose November to February. If you want value and still-good weather, choose October or March. If you want a quieter, cheaper base for a longer stay, consider the monsoon or early summer.

Families and groups booking the 2BHK villa should plan earlier than hostel dorm guests, especially around New Year, Christmas, long weekends and school holidays. Solo travellers usually have more flexibility, but even dorm beds can fill quickly during festival weeks.
